The ABTA stands for Association of British Travel Agents. It covers package holidays by ferry, road and rail by the associations members.
While, ATOL stands for Air Travel Organiser’s Licence. It is a government-run financial protection scheme operated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
ATOL covers flights and accommodation, flights and car hire, or flights and accommodation and car hire with a single travel firm.
